A Brief Introduction Of Huhhot No 2 Middle School

Huhehot No.2 Middle School is honored as one of the key middle schools both in Huhehot and Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. Sponsored by Mr.Fu Zuoyi, a member of the KMT Party and patriotic general, the school was originally set up in Hang Jin Hou Banner,Bayannuer League in 1942 ,with the Chinese name " Feng Dou "which means " struggling " . In 1946 it moved to the present position ---Huhehot， and after 1949 the school was taken over by the people’s government. In 1954, it was renamed Huhehot No.2 Middle School. For over 60 years since its establishment , tens of thousands of qualified graduates have been admitted to different universities and devoted to their careers across the country.

Located in South Hulun Street --the center of the city,  one part of our school has an area of 62800 square meters, the other part is in the developing area of Huhehot,“Ru yi Developing Area”, both of the parts of the school has a total of almose three thoustand students in 65 classes and the teaching staff of more than 250 ,3 specialist class teachers and 83 senior professional teachers, 68 first-class teachers ,11 teaching experts in a range of Inner Mongolia ,22 in Hohehot , 5 subject leading teachers in Inner Mongolia and 10 in Huhehot, as well as 14 young star teachers.30 of our teachers' lectures have been evaluated as high quality and more than 40 teachers have been rewarded as excellent tutors of different scientific competitions .

Adhere to the system of principal responsible ,representative assembly and all-staff engagement system. Our strict attitudes to school operation and democratic management has helped establish  an effective assessment both to teachers and students. With earnest and learned careerists, our school is trying to cultivate more high qualified graduates and reach the goal of the best known across the country. 

Huhehot No.2 Middle School has established interschool relationship with over 60 schools both in and out of Inner Mongolia ,and has formed friendly relationship with schools in Russia ,Japan ，USA and Denmark .In October 1996, our school joined the Global program (friendly to environment),and in  2000 became a member of Chinese GEMS (IEARN)---international education resources network . In 2002 our school was chosen as one of the seven member schools of Sino-America high school exchange program and also signed a contract on personal exchange with Marietta College in Ohio US. In 2003 our school and the Japan  Fudooka Senior High School became twin schools .At present our school has acted as a window of the education in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region to the world.

During the 67 years from its founding to 2009, Hohehot  No.2 Middle School had enrolled junior and senior middle school students in over 660 classes. The number of students who graduated from the School exceeds  about  40,000.

Students of Huhehot No.2 Middle School have shown excellent qualities. In recent years, there have been several students winning national awards and scores of students winning Autonomous Region-level awards every year in various national subject contests and science and technology activities, etc. During the period from 2000 to 2009, several students won the first prize in Math\Physics\ Chemistry \Biology Contests of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region and then took part in the national Math Contest held in Hong Kong, or the other places; And the other students participated in the 6th National Teenagers’ Practice Activity about Biology and Environmental Science and won second-class and third-class prize for their excellent papers.  And every year  about  20 students were awarded with extra scores for their College Entrance Examination. The school basketball teams (both male and female), male football team and athletic team often take part in the Students’ Sports Meeting of the Autonomous Region as the representative of  Huhehot  City.  And the female basketball team and athletic team won championships several times.

The School’s Performance in College Entrance Examination has ranked high among all middle schools in the Autonomous Region since 1998. In the past ten years， college admission rate was almost 100% . And the rate of students who entered key universities of the country was from almost 50% to almost 80%. In 2009 , almost 90% of the students can enter key universities of the country.

Almost all the graduated students from No.2 Middle School are now making great contribution to the country in the fields of science, culture and education.  

Nowadays, the Huhehot  No. 2 Middle School is a pilot school for training sports talents for Inner Mongolia.
